Copper John Corp, of Auburn, NY and G5 Outdoors, of Memphis, MI have announced the resolution of a patent infringement dispute that was being litigated in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. The legal action was entitled “G5 Outdoors LLC v. Copper John Corporation”, and was assigned Case No. 1:08-cv-73. The settlement has resulted in a licensing arrangement between the two companies covering Copper John patent numbers 6,508,005 and 5,388,336.
Copper John Corp manufactures and distributes the world’s finest archery sights. In 1999, Copper John introduced its popular Dead Nuts Hunting sight employing the use of a round pin guard to serve as an aiming aid during target acquisition. In 2002, the company acquired Stanislawski Archery Products and continues to market release aids under the STAN brand.
G5 Outdoors began building its brand in 2000 introducing its’ popular Montecbroadhead line and has been growing ever since. The company recently entered the bow market with its high end Quest Bowhunting line of compound bows.
